Description:
Photographing Invisible Things is a whimsical exploration of the way in
which we use photography to construct a meaningful past for ourselves.
A lonely collector finds the remnants of a wedding photograph amidst the
burnt out rubble of a derelict house. After finding the location where
the photograph was taken he proceeds to photograph his own version of
events, beginning a journey to create a life of false memories through
his photographs. But the space in his photographs is not entirely under
his control. Someone gets caught in frame, and at the climax of the film
the man must choose whether to reject or incorporate this human element
into his fantasy life.
Distribution:
The film was premiered at Birds Eye View at the Curzon Cinema, Soho, London,
in November 2002. It was praised by Derek Malcolm (Guardian critic and
President of International Film Critics) as being "personal and highly
intriguing".
