Description

4 x 3 minute films celebrate Centenary of the Bra. This series of films takes a sideways look at the history and cultural legacy of this not-so-ordinary undergarment; exposing the secrets we tell ourselves (and others) and revealing something about humanity’s ability to shape our history – despite the constraints of reality.

Film 1:
Sadie Ayton has transformed the lives and busts of many women in her 37-year career, fitting more than 50,000 bras.

Film 2:
Short film celebrating the invention of the bra 100 years ago, looking at how it has adapted to changes in fashion, including designs worn by Jane Russell and Eva Herzigova.

Film 3:
In the second of four short films about female underwear, two feminists examine Wonderbra adverts from the 1970s in an attempt to discover why the item of clothing become so hated by the women's movement.

Film 4:
Stop-frame animation of real women wearing bras in progressive sizes and home truths about ladies' affinities toward the garment.
